Having an estate sale in San Diego
Having an estate sale in San Diego
As one of the most well-respected estate sale companies in the area, we at San Diego Liquidation and Estate Services know how overwhelming estate sales can be. Often occasioned by the death of a loved one, estate sales tend to hit a family at a time when they are least equipped to handle them. Because of this we make it our priority to take as much of the burden off our clients’ shoulders as possible. But before you decide who to trust with your loved one’s estate, we’d like to let you know a little more about us, what we believe, and what we do.
Who we are
What to expect
As soon as we are hired, our team goes to work. This happens in several steps:
- Understanding Your Wants and Needs – From the first phone call, our main goal is to make sure you are heard. We will listen to you, and then ask things like:
- Is there anything on the property that is special to you, or holds sentimental value?
- What kind of time frame are you looking at for completion?
- What items do you think are of significant value?
- And many others
In the end, the goal is to be sure you feel confident and comfortable with our process.
- Sorting Through the Estate – After we are all on the same page, our experts will enter the property and begin to sort through everything. If you’d like, we can have any low or non-valued personal items packed away, and any trash taken off on your behalf. What remains will be appraised and clearly marked. Sometimes we will suggest other methods of sale for certain items, depending on desired value and your timetable.
- Advertising the Sale – Based on the time and outcome you are looking for, we’ll suggest an advertising schedule, and let the community at large know that we have a sale coming up. In addition, our reputation in the community means that a good number of people follow our sales looking for the high – quality items they are used to finding there.
- Holding the Sale – On the day or days of the sale, you can be involved as little or as much as you’d like. But wherever you decide to be, our team will be there to advise or represent you. We have many years’ experience forming relationships with buyers and making sure you get the best returns. When it’s all over, we’ll help you process all of the financial transactions, and let you know how it went.
- Cleaning Up – We’re not satisfied until you are and if we need to, we will keep working on getting individual items stored for the short term and sold. We can also take items for donation, arrange for storage for things you’d like to keep, or arrange for shipping to other family members. In the end, we make sure the property is left broom-cleaned and in better condition then we found it.
